As a reminder, there is no school on Friday, October 21 due to a Teacher Workday and Parent Conferences.

On Thursday, October 20 1st Quarter Report Cards will go home with students. Parent Conferences will be held Thursday afternoon after school until 6:30 PM. On Friday, October 21, morning Parent Conferences will be held from 8-11:30 AM.

Yee-haw! It's Wild West Day! We can't wait to see all the cowgirls and cowboys that ride their way in to BES today! Let's get this Friday started so we can boot-scoot and boogie into the weekend. EXCITING NEWS! Blacksburg Elementary is participating in Kinsa’s FLUency™ school health program. Ms. Clyde has a limited number of free smart thermometers, so please reach out to her at laura.clyde@cherokee1.org to request one for your family!

Students should not have trading cards, games, toys, etc. out in the cafeteria, hallways, or gym in the mornings, during instructional time, or at dismissal. If students bring personal items to school, they are their responsibility. If having them causes a disturbance, they will be asked to keep them at home. Please remind your student(s) to keep these items up and out of sight until recess.

As a reminder, Blacksburg Elementary will be celebrating College and Career Day this Friday, September 2! Students can sport their future college gear and colors or choose to dress for their future career. All outfits must follow the CCSD Dress Code Guidelines.

Parents and Guardians: Please make sure that you have created a Parent Portal in Power School, linked your child(ren) to your account, and completed the online Enrollment Forms. Orientation is quickly approaching and this must be completed before students receive their teacher assignments. We are very excited to start the 2022-2023 school year with you! Please let us know if you need help with this process. We will see you all very soon!

Parents and Students: Open House/Orientation will be this Thursday, August 11 from 4-6. Students will receive teacher assignments at this time if all of their online enrollment forms have been completed! Please let us know if we can assist you!

With less than 40 hours until our trip to Nashville to compete against students all across the nation we want to thank everyone who has ever supported and believed in us. If this year hasn’t been a testament that you can do anything if you try then I don’t know what has. We want to also think the school district and businesses that have funded all of our adventures towards helping Cherokee County be the healthiest it can be! Here’s to attempting to be the nation’s top 10!
