The National Beta Club recognizes, academic achievement, promotes character, develops leadership skills, encourages service involvement, and provides technological advantages to students in grades 5 - 12. The purpose of the National Beta Club shall be to promote the ideals of character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students, to reward meritorious achievement and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school
To qualify for National Junior Beta Club, a student must be in the 5th grade and have an overall 4th grade average of 93. Members must maintain an average of at least 90 each nine weeks, as well as display good character and leadership skills.
Student Council consists of elected student officers and representatives who share fellow students' ideas, interests, and concerns with BES teachers and the principal, Ms. Martin. Representatives help raise funds for school projects and assist with community service projects. Being on Student Council helps students become responsible citizens and leaders.
Students are recognized in an awards assembly at the end of the year for being named a Principal Scholar (All A's for the year) and Honor Roll Recipient (A/B's for the year), Perfect Attendance Recipient, and ROAR Recipient (outstanding student character/behavior). Students are invited throughout the year to take part in special events for outstading attendance, academics, and behavior.
